We think that this teen is a great success in the U.S. He will inspire millions of children to get out and do something big as he did. We think that he will change many kids life by doing speeches. Everyone should be proud of Jordan for being 13 and to have climbed 6 of the Seven Summits. Kids should follow his example.

American boy, 13, breaks Everest record

On Saturday Jordan Romero a 13 year old American broke the Everest record, being the youngest to ever climb it. Broke the record of a 16 year old Temba Tsheri of Nepal. He said he was doing this for himself to do something big but also to inspire others. "Obese children are the future of America, the way things are going," he said on April 9 in Kathmandu. "I am hoping to change that by doing what I do: climbing and motivational speaking." Jordan has now climbed 6 of the Seven Summits and plans the 7th one; Vinson Massif in Antarctica to be climbed in December.

Awake during surgery: 'I'm in hell': comment

Imagine that your are having a surgery and you wake up, imagine the pain you will feel, and you will not even be able to make a signal to the doctors because the anesthesia doesn't lets you. I would not like it for sure. But a least it doesn't happens to all people, and also the scientist are trying to find the reason and a cure. I hope this doesn't happens to any of us.

Awake during surgery: 'I'm in hell'

Carol Weiher was having her eye surgery in the right eye in 1998 when she woke up in an operating room hearing disco music. She wanted to make a signal to doctors to let them know she was awake, but the muscle relaxant didn't permit her. This is the effect that general anesthesia has on a person who has woken up at the middle of a surgery. One in a thousand people will wake up under this effect. Doctors all over the world have been trying to find out what causes this because the brain is supposed to be completly inactive with the general anesthesia.

50 years ago scientist where looking for a solution for a problem and dissmised the laser. Not a long time from that this invention started to work. Laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation! "Everyone has some sort of connection every single day to lasers -- even if most people have no idea what that connection is," said Mark Bronski, manager of laser production at German-based TRUMPF Inc., the largest manufacturer of industrial lasers in North America." today lasers help for many things. they can help for surgery like laser waxing, laser eye surgery, and for removing warts. Happy 50th birthday to the laser: Comment

50 years ago on this day the laser was born. This invention is a brilliant thing because it has helped do all kinds of things. For example we would not be able to point at things far away if it wasn't for the laser. This is a smart invention because it also helps to cure injuries, cut things open, and depilate. In basic terms, a laser is any device that creates a narrow, intense beam of light, then amplifies that beam. We all think its a brilliant invention and hopefully it will evolve into a bigger, better machine.

We think this oil spill is very sad and at the same time verry important for the world. It is sad because we as a world are using to much petrolium and it is sad the loss of that much of petrolim. And we think this is important because even doh it is not so good for our planet petrolium is verry usefull and it is shame this amount of it is getting lost. Plus it is verry contaminating to have thousands of gallos of petrolium spill in our sea every day.

Stopping Gulf Coast oil leak could take weeks

The goverment has many people working in way to stop the leaking. they already found three possible solutions. The first one is to send remote controled submarines to active the Blowout preventer, but it should have activated the day of the explosion, so it will onl work if crews get it to work, which will be very hard. the second option is called stopgap, this consist of putting a chamber that will capture the crude and send it to a boat above, but this one is preventive, it will works for some time until the third option is done. The third option consists of making a relief well, this means that the company will make a new well that will intercept the failing well and then it will send concrete to close it.

We think this is a very bad habit of giving kids to much technology. parents should find something else that will entertain their kids, not something that make kids be in a small screen instead of playing or doing something productive and educative, even when some apps are educative. iphones can be used in a good way, for example, letting kids

Comment: National chains turning to free food on Tuesday

This news article is about as badly written as it is worth reading it. Although some people think that this is bad for business, the restaurants gain customers and with that money for the future. All of these freebie days are also good as they help the hungry and the homeless. In our group, we think that this is helpful since it gives a great meal to the less fortunate.
In our group, we have come to the conclusion that there should be a free food day once a year for all the restaurants in the world. We think this would help many people fill their stomachs with good food at least one time every year. It would be best, though, if we could make a free food day for all the restaurants not the same day for every restaurant. Maybe we could work out that every day another different restaurant gets a freebie. That would be great for the homeless and the hungry.

National chains turning to free food on Tuesday

This news is about a free food day today, Tuesday march 23rd. Many restaurants and coffee shops is giving free treats in specific time of the day. for example Starbucks is offering a free pastry with the purchase of iced tea or coffee until 10 a.m. For other shops this is a tradition like for Ben and Jerry's it is a free cone day.
Companies want to do this so that people come to their shops to buy something and get another treat for free. By doing this they want people to like their food.

Comment: School Won't Re-enroll Lesbians' Child

This particular news article is quite rude to people all around the world. To be honest, I find it very racist. First of all, its racist on the school's part. Second of all, its racist on the Church's part. That is by far one of the most humiliating things in the whole world because religious schools are not allowed to be racist. This may affect us because if the readers of this article take it the wrong way, the whole world will become racist against gay and lesbian societies.

School wont re-enroll lesbians' child

Racism against lesbians and gays is getting stronger now and days. In Sacred Heart of Jesus School is not willing to accept a lesbians daughter. The school is saying that it would be against Catholicism because what she is learning in school would be confusing. Many catholic officials are saying that this is racism against the parents of the child and the child herself.
It is also cruel because they are taking the child away from her friends, teachers, and a catholic environment.
"These actions by the Denver Archdiocese harm the student by taking the child away from friends, teachers and community," said Jarrett Barrios, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. "It's deeply troubling to see any school remove a child from their educational program simply as the means of rejecting that child's parents." http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/03/08/colorado.lesbians.church/index.html?hpt=T2

Chile quake may have tipped Earth's axis

The earthquake in Chile was so strong that it changed the length of the days. These earthquake redistributed the earth weight. this is due to , that during an earthquake a massive quantity of rock that is displaced to another part, an changed to earth weight. These caused the days to be 1.26 microseconds shorter. A microsecond is one million of a second, so the damage is no many, but it will be preliminary.

Tiny doses of danger foods may hold allergy treatment

Many Doctors around the world are saying that peanut allergies can be treated if you give it to children in small doses every day. This immunotherapic treatment has been issued and has given results that prove it useful. They also found that children who do this treatment for 32-61 months could incorporate peanuts into their diet within four weeks of the treatment. Adelglass noted that the patients would probably have to be on immunotherapy for life to ensure that their immune systems can tolerate the peanuts for good.

Mandela makes appearance as lawmakers honor him

Nelson Mandela, former South African freedom fighter, now president, made an appearance this morning when the nation's parliament was going to honor his 20th anniversary of being free from prison. His wife and and ex-wife attended Zuma's speech. Mandela was already put into jail in 1964 for being against the government in South Africa. He was imprisoned for 27 years which made the strict segregation laws even stricter. In his last public appearance before he was jailed, Mandela said, "I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons will live together in harmony, and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for, and to see realized. But if need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die."

Last USA World War 1 Veteran Turns 109

The last surviving WW1 veteran in the United States, Frank Buckles, turned 109 years old on Monday. He's still hoping for a national memorial in Washington for his comrades. Buckles is expected to deliver a few comments about the war this afternoon in his house in West Virginia. But the old "Doughboy" has already been outspoken lately telling the congress to give federal recognition to a rundown District-of-Columbia memorial in an over-grown area along the national mall. In December, 2009 Buckles testified on Capitol Hill when lawmakers considered whether to fund renovation and give the spot national monument status.

This news impacted all of Guatemala. We think that Guatemala is getting every day more and more dangerous. The fact that Portillo was captured is significant to the population of many countries since money has been stolen and laundered by the million. It is incredible how much money he has stolen and it is unbelievable that the money he gained from being president is not enough. We hope that his sentence is fulfilled in the entirety so that he gets what he deserves.

The fact that the Taliban have attacked Kabul is significant to the whole world. It means that the people who are a part of the Taliban still haven't noticed that what they are doing is wrong. All those people they killed and are still killing are innocent. They also have an influence on the terrorists who bomb the United States and other countries. This is very bad becuase they make it seem better to bomb houses and kill innocent people for nothing. Then the terrorists bomb a city and everyone thinks its ok becuase the Taliban did it too. This doesnt affect us because luckily no one knows about Guatemala.
