We chose this news because it is terrible to the world. All the poor people in Rio de Janeiro are suffering since they feel that they are being shut out of the city. They also feel that this wall is being built out of shame since the beaches are right in front and the government doesn't want tourists to see these people. This affects us because it is showing that you really can shut someone out. Also it is a marvelous example of segregation. We used to think that segregation was only from 1950 but it is everywhere. It also is done to everyone. Black, white, Jewish, Catholic, rich, poor, anything. You can be segregated from every place in existence, and it will affect us all the same.
